Dear IGCC 2019 Participant,
 
We are contacting you as a registered delegate to the 13th International Gastric Cancer Congress (IGCC 2019). As the Congress is fast approaching, we would like to provide you with some practical information concerning your participation. Please read the following points carefully.

2. CONGRESS APP FOR MOBILE DEVICES


The IGCC 2019 Mobile App is now available for download. The App will bring the Congress to your smart phone or tablet. You will get instant access to the full scientific program, latest news before, during and after the Congress. Therefore, not hesitate and download it beforehand as it features:

3. REGISTRATION


The Registration desk is located on the ground floor of the Prague Congress Centre
close to the entrance number 2 and 3.

All documents including the registration package (Congress bag, personal name badge, printed programme, public transportation pass, etc.) will be handed out to registered participants during the following opening hours.

Delegates who have not yet settled the registration fee in full will be asked to pay the amount due. The Registration desk accepts Credit / Debit cards (Visa, MasterCard) or cash (EUR only).

Please note that badges need to be worn when attending all sessions and official Congress program.
 
 

4. SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

Information for Oral Presenters
Please note all presentations must be uploaded (with a USB stick) in the Speaker’s ready room no later than TWO hours before the start of the session where the presentation is to be displayed.  Presentation for an early morning session should be handed over in the evening before.
 
Should you bring your own computer please be aware you will not be able to use it to run the presentation.
 
Speaker’s ready room will be located in the room 2.1. on the 2nd FLOOR and will be open as follows:
  • Wednesday 8 May 2019              15:00 – 20:00
  • Thursday 9 May 2019                   07:00 – 18:00
  • Friday 10 May 2019                       08:00 – 18:00
  • Saturday 11 May 2019                   08:00 – 13:00
     
Information for Poster Presenters 
Poster Area is located on the 2nd floor foyer next to the exhibition.

Maximum Poster Dimensions are: 90cm (width) x 120cm (height)
 
Poster Mounting - Poster Area will be open from Wednesday, 8 May 2019 from 15:00.
Please make sure to mount your poster on the poster board with the number corresponding to the number assigned to your poster presentation (e.g. P.01-001-Thu). Mounting material will be available onsite.
 
Poster Dismantling – Saturday, 11 May 2019 until 13:00.
Posters not dismantled by their authors by the end of the Congress will be removed by the organizers and discarded.

 

5. EXHIBITION


The exhibition is located on the 2nd floor. All exhibitors are listed in printed program / mobile app.
 
Exhibition opening hours are listed below:

Badge Scanning at Exhibition / Lunch Symposia
Companies exhibiting / having a symposium could be using badge scanners, lead retrieve systems or exchange of business cards as ways to access your data. By submitting your badge for scanning, it automatically means that you consent to share your personal data (name, institute or company, country, emails address) with that third party. If you agree to have your badge scanned when visiting an exhibition stand or a lunch symposium, you are agreeing that those third parties receive your personal data and use it to communicate with you about their products.
 
 

6. SOCIAL PROGRAMME

7. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION


Bus stops are situated in front of the Arrival Hall of Terminal 1 and 2.

Get the connections to the venue here.

The easiest connection is by BUS 119 to Nadraží Veleslavín - metro line A (direction Depo Hostivař) to Muzeum station - transfer to line C direction Háje to Vyšehrad station (2 stops). This transportation takes around 45 minutes.

The basic ticket costs 32CZK and can be purchased in the automatic vending machines (accepts CC) or it the Prague Public Transportation Desks in the arrival halls.

YOU WILL RECEIVE A FREE TRANSPORTATION PASS ALONG WITH YOUR BADGE AT THE IGCC REGISTRATION DESK IN THE VENUE VALID FOR THE WHOLE DURATION OF THE CONGRESS - 8 – 11 May 2019.
 
TAXI:
Transport from the Vaclav Havel Airport by taxi takes about 40 min.
Official airport taxis are standing right in front of the terminals (advance reservation is not necessary).
The airport taxis accept cash in CZK, EUR or credit cards
Average price: 800 CZK / 30 EUR
NOTE: Due the regulation of the traffic by Prague Airport most taxi companies are newly applying a surcharge of 50CZK/2EUR or 100CZK/5 EUR to the fare to cover the fee to access the Terminals, which is legal.
 
UBER / BOLT (TAXIFY):
The global on-line platforms are operating in Prague offering beneficial rates.

8. OTHER


Certificate of attendance
All registered delegates present on-site are entitled to receive a Certificate of Attendance. Certificates will be emailed to all on-site delegates after the Congress.
 
Currency
Currency is Czech Crown – CZK / Kč.
Exchange rate 1 EUR = 25,7 CZK (in May 2019).
 
It is advisable to exchange money in banks rather than in the street exchange offices or us the ATM. We advise not to change money at the airport.

The credit cards are widely accepted in shops and restaurants. Also, EUR cash is widely accepted, but consider that the rates are usually not beneficial.
 
At the venue an ATM is located close to the entrance number 5.
 
Electrical appliances
If you are planning to bring electrical equipment (e.g. battery chargers, laptop power supply, etc.), please check whether you need an adapter. Electrical power is rated 230 V at 50 Hz. Most common power outlets are designed for a two-pin Euro plug (Plug types C, E & F ).
 
Lunches
Lunches are provided during the main Congress days to all registered delegates and all registered accompanying persons at the exhibition area (2nd floor). The seating area is available upstairs.
 
You can also pick from several restaurants/pubs available in the vicinity. The prices of a lunch menu with drink are between 150 – 300 CZK.

Parking
Participants arriving by car are advised to use the underground parking available. Please note parking fees are not included in the registration fees.

Tipping
In restaurants guests usually tip the waiter with about 5-10%.
 
Weather
Prague is a city with a “mild continental climate”. The average temperature in May varies between 10 °C and 20°C.
